about

‘‘An Ovate is heavily linked to Celtic history in Ireland in much the same world as bards, they would memorise poetry and songs for entertainment in taverns and town halls’’.

Aaron linked with Northern Irish Producer CHERUBIM a member of RP33 along with comrade NORTH who Aaron has also collaborated with in the past. CHERUBIMS production style melds genres like Hip Hop, Downtempo Electronica, Vaporwave and trap. Aaron was interested in CHERUBIMS music as it reminded him of old school games due to his experimental production methods and his very underground aesthetic which Aaron could relate to. CHERUBIM releases loads of content and doesn’t seem to care about how it does; he's making it for the love of the music and Aaron with his continuous release schedule couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work with him.

In this song Aaron reflects on what he really does for people. Providing them entertainment on the regular, he came up with the chorus line ‘Green blood I ovate’ which was derived from Aaron’s research into the word Ovate and finding out it linked back into his own country's history. This theme of entertainers is taken to the extreme in the cover art with the Ovate who has devoted his life to entertaining his crowd.
‘For the verse on this track I really wanted to talk about how I feel like I’m always trying my hardest with music holistically with writing, recording and promotion but it never feels like it will be enough. I have the mentality that if I’m not working hard then I’m going to fall behind or miss an opportunity.’
‘Stars they fly by in the sky of the night
Like they got somewhere to be
Everythings moving but me’
Aaron has no yearn to be on the top 100 or billboard he states ‘Going big fuck chartin, rather blow up on Astari’. Which is a huge underground music youtube channel with no censorship.

From this Aaron furthers this theme of ‘Entertainer/entertainment’ by filling the verse with metaphors and references to his pastimes like video games and TV shows which help quiet his mind in his down time.
‘First rule of alchemy gets what you give’ derived from the intro to FullMetal Alchemist.
‘I don’t buy her no jewels cause the rings are for Sonic’ Aarons engineer Julian threw in a nice little sample from the games here too.

lyrics

Moustache and a fade
Plenty racks in the safe
Plugs late but I'll wait
Green blood I Ovate
Toejam to my Earl
See myself in her pearls
Can't cope then self medicate
Lose hope for a better day
Pac it in play atari
See me faded eyes starry
Going big fuck chartin
Rather blow up on Astari

Tryna be your final fantasy
Keep you protected
A canopy
Acid leaks through
You'll abandon me
Please tell me why death have you stranded me?
If i want you back what I trade
The First rule of alchemy
get what you give
I'm just dyin to live
High time I arrived
Stars they fly by in the sky of the night
Like they got somewhere to be
Everythings moving but me
Head on a pike the way that I'm posted
The touch of a phantom

Get 48 volts in
My head ain't on straight
Yeah I'm feelin like Frankenstein
Doc put the bolts in
I'm afraid to touch on it
You ride and you smoke from the bonnet
You ain't get a verse
Or a sonnet
The songs is a bop if I'm on it
I try something new
Bioshock me to life
I get a new lease and I pop me a tonic
I fill up my plate and I move like tectonic
I don't buy her no jewels
Cause rings are for sonic
I don't run round with tools
Who got nothin to lose
Or got nowhere to go
They a slave to the static
They livin for blow
My lair is upstairs in the attic
Door always locked but the crevasses glow yeah

Moustache and a fade
Plenty racks in my safe
Plugs late but I'll wait
Green blood I Ovate
Toejam to my Earl
See myself in her pearls
Can't cope then self medicate
Lose hope for a better day
Pac it in play atari
